Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification
- At least one year of recent experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to earning required continuing education credits and meeting state/district professional development mandates
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement engaging therapeutic activities tailored to students’ unique educational needs
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and collaborate with the OT team to refine interventions
- Maintain open communication with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure coordinated support
- Ensure accurate record keeping in adherence to state and district guidelines
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up to date with best practices
