Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, therapists, and families

  • Commitment to fostering student independence and participation in school activities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the occupational therapist in delivering therapy services to students, focusing on their educational and developmental goals
  • Implement individualized treatment plans during therapy sessions
  • Support classroom staff with strategies to reinforce students’ skills throughout the school day
  • Collect data and document student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records
  • Participate in meetings as needed to discuss student growth and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
  • Encourage a positive, supportive environment that nurtures students’ growth and confidence
