Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current state license or eligibility to obtain one as a COTA.
- Previous experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Compassion, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working in a school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Assist with developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapeutic activities aligned with student needs.
- Document student progress and report findings to supervising therapists and educational staff.
- Support classroom staff through modeling therapeutic strategies and recommending adaptations.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in professional meetings and contribute to student-centered problem solving.
