Step in as a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) during a maternity leave, working shoulder-to-shoulder with an on-site Occupational Therapist to deliver tailored support for young learners.
This assignment runs tentatively from February 16th, 2027 through May 14th, 2027, offering the opportunity to work in diverse settings including Robert E. Cashion, Bryson, Fork Shoals, Greenbrier, Fountain Inn, and Grove Elementary Schools. Each day brings the rewarding challenge of treating 9-10 students, typically in 30-minute sessions focused on advancing their functional and academic skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active South Carolina COTA license required
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, engaging positively with school staff, parents, and students
- Commitment to supporting student progress and adapting strategies to individual needs
- Reliable transportation for traveling between assigned school locations
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services under the guidance of a district OT
- Implement IEP-driven interventions to support fine motor, sensory integration, self-care, and classroom participation
- Accurately document sessions and track student progress
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
- Adapt to multiple school environments while maintaining a consistent, high level of care
