Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Greer, SC

A unique opportunity is available for a motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support a Maternity Leave assignment within area elementary schools. This contract role involves working closely with an Occupational Therapist across multiple school sites, offering essential care and guidance to young students. The tentative assignment runs from mid-February through mid-May 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Your responsibilities will include providing direct treatment to approximately 9-10 students daily, focusing on individualized sessions that are typically 30 minutes each. The role will have you actively engaged at several elementary school locations, collaborating with school staff to ensure each student's therapy goals are met and progress is documented.

Qualifications:

• Current, active South Carolina COTA license is required
• Previous experience providing occupational therapy services in a school or pediatric setting is highly preferred
• Ability to quickly develop rapport with children and work collaboratively with supervising OTs, school staff, and families
• Strong time management and organizational skills, especially while serving multiple campuses
• Enthusiasm for supporting students with diverse abilities and needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an onsite OT
• Manage a flexible rotation between assigned schools
• Accurately document sessions and student progress in accordance with school and district guidelines
• Maintain responsive communication with teachers, therapists, and parents
• Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills needed for school success
