Step into an engaging school-based contract opportunity supporting students across several educational settings this fall. This position is ideal for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who is passionate about improving students’ functional and academic success. The assignment covers multiple campuses during a temporary FMLA leave from August 24th through September 25th, with the possibility of extension.

Collaborate with educators and therapists while maintaining a flexible, autonomous schedule. You’ll serve approximately 32 students directly, delivering therapeutic support for around 800 minutes per week across a diverse caseload at a set of assigned school sites. Your expertise will help students achieve their goals through creative interventions, adaptive strategies, and personalized attention.

Qualifications:

  • Active Missouri COTA license required
  • Previous pediatric or school-based occupational therapy assistant experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills and adaptable to various age groups and learning environments
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your schedule to ensure comprehensive caseload coverage
  • Ability to travel between local school sites as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct OT-related services to a defined student roster, meeting established minutes each week
  • Implement treatment plans designed by an Occupational Therapist
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with the interdisciplinary team
  • Empower students to participate in daily school activities, develop motor skills, and greater independence
  • Flexibly adjust weekly schedules to meet student service minutes and school priorities
