Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Independence, MO

Step into a rewarding school-based contract opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, supporting K-12 students and early learners throughout North Kansas City. Experience a dynamic schedule, working with a variety of age groups and sites—half your time will be dedicated to engaging elementary students, while the other half offers the unique experience of an innovative Early Education Center. Each day may bring new settings, as your work could take you to multiple locations, fostering a sense of variety and continual professional growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a COTA; open to Occupational Therapists as well
• Experience or enthusiasm for working with school-aged children and early childhood populations
• Flexibility and reliability in adapting to various sites and caseload demands
• Ability to thrive with a caseload averaging 30-35 students
• Strong communication skills, with collaborative spirit for working alongside up to two supervisors

Role Highlights:

• Provide direct therapy and support for students across elementary and early education settings
• Travel between sites daily as caseload and scheduling require
• Maintain well-organized documentation and therapy reports
• Collaborate closely with district supervisors and educational teams
• Participate actively in student success planning and interventions

This contract runs from October 20th through May 28th, offering full-time hours and the chance to bill mileage for travel between worksites. Interviews will be conducted virtually for your convenience.
