Step into a vital role supporting student growth as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in an educational setting near Kansas City, MO. This contract position covers a leave from August 24th to October 30th, providing the opportunity to work across several school sites and positively impact young lives.

You will serve a diverse caseload spanning multiple elementary, middle, and high school environments. The position offers the unique flexibility to manage your own weekly schedule—with guidance and oversight provided at the start of the school year. The focus will be ensuring all assigned students receive high-quality COTA services, with a caseload of approximately 32 students and around 800 minutes of direct intervention each week.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active COTA certification in Missouri is required
  • Previous school-based experience is highly valued
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a multi-site caseload effectively
  • Excellent communication abilities to collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptable approach to working with students across various grade levels

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy support to students as part of their IEP and 504 plans
  • Manage your schedule to meet mandated service times for each student on your caseload
  • Travel between assigned schools (within reasonable proximity)
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Collaborate with supervising occupational therapist(s), classroom teachers, and school staff

This contract offers full-time hours, approximately 7.5 hours per day between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., ideal for those seeking a dynamic school-based assignment with autonomy and support.
