Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid COTA certification and current state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, though not required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Compassionate, patient, and creative approach to working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Familiarity with IEPs and ability to follow therapy plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as directed by the supervising OT
- Collaborate with educators and other school professionals to promote student achievement
- Assist in documenting therapy sessions, progress, and attendance according to school and legal requirements
- Support the development and execution of individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adapt therapeutic activities to meet each student’s unique needs and goals
- Promote engagement, independence, and participation in the educational environment
