Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- At least one year of recent experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to obtaining continuing education credits and professional development as required by state and district guidelines
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement targeted therapeutic activities and interventions to help students reach their full potential
- Track, monitor, and document students’ progress while collaborating closely with the OT to fine-tune treatment plans
- Work effectively alongside teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students’ individual needs are met
- Maintain precise records in accordance with state and district policies
- Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices within the field
