Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • At least one year of recent experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
  • Commitment to obtaining continuing education credits and professional development as required by state and district guidelines

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Implement targeted therapeutic activities and interventions to help students reach their full potential
  • Track, monitor, and document students’ progress while collaborating closely with the OT to fine-tune treatment plans
  • Work effectively alongside teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students’ individual needs are met
  • Maintain precise records in accordance with state and district policies
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices within the field
