Embark on a rewarding contract position providing support as an Occupational Therapy Assistant within a vibrant K-8 school setting. This full-time opportunity (up to 40 hours each week) is ideal for someone eager to make a positive difference across multiple campuses near Lancaster, CA. As an itinerant COTA, you will collaborate with a dedicated team, working under the supervision of experienced Occupational Therapists, and serving up to five school sites.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current, valid COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) license required
  • Previous experience in a school environment or with K-8 populations strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of the unique developmental and learning needs of elementary and middle school students
  • Ability to adapt quickly when traveling between multiple campus locations
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
  • Capable of following treatment plans and recommendations provided by supervising OTs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in their individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Support students in developing fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and daily living abilities
  • Document progress, maintain accurate records, and provide feedback to supervising OTs
  • Assist in conducting screenings and assessments under the guidance of district OTs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to reinforce therapeutic goals in the classroom setting
  • Maintain flexibility and organization while managing therapy across multiple school sites
