School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Lawrenceville, Virginia

Put your clinical skills to work in an engaging educational environment supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a contract basis. You’ll collaborate closely with educators and licensed Occupational Therapists, helping students reach their functional potential within a supportive school community.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current, valid COTA licensure or eligibility to obtain in Virginia
• Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings strongly preferred
• Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt in changing classroom dynamics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement treatment plans as directed by an Occupational Therapist, assisting students in developing or restoring functional skills for classroom participation
• Work with students individually or in small groups on motor, sensory, or adaptive skills
• Document ongoing progress and update relevant education team members
• Support classroom staff by demonstrating therapeutic strategies and accommodations
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute input related to students’ occupational performance
• Ensure compliance with all school district, state, and federal guidelines
