Apply NowStep into an impactful role assisting students across multiple schools as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This contract opportunity spans from August 24th through September 25th, with the potential for extension, ensuring you can truly make a difference this fall.
You’ll provide essential support to a diverse caseload of approximately 32 students (about 800 direct minutes per week) by visiting various school sites. Your expertise will help students achieve success in both classroom tasks and daily activities. Expect a full-time schedule, roughly 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the flexibility to build your own timetable in alignment with oversight at the beginning of the year.
Qualifications & Desired Skills:
- Active Missouri licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience in school-based settings highly desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators and therapy teams across multiple buildings
- Strong communication and organizational skills to efficiently manage a dynamic caseload
- Commitment to serving all assigned students consistently each week
Principal Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy support to students at several school sites
- Conduct sessions per students’ IEPs and individualized needs
- Coordinate schedules to ensure all required minutes are met weekly
- Document activities, progress, and collaborate with supervising therapists and stakeholders
- Adapt therapeutic approaches and materials as needed to maximize student participation
