Ideal candidates should bring experience supporting licensed occupational therapists in a school environment, creating and implementing therapy plans, and collaborating closely with educators, families, and other support professionals to meet students’ needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current COTA certification and state licensure (or eligibility)
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Collaborative approach to working with students, educators, and therapy teams
  • Ability to adapt and tailor interventions to individual student goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized and group occupational therapy sessions as directed by an OT
  • Assist with assessments and contribute to student progress reports
  • Document therapy activities and keep accurate records in compliance with district and federal guidelines
  • Support students in developing functional skills for classroom participation
  • Foster a positive, motivating environment to encourage student independence
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings and team discussions
