This role offers hands-on experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a school-based setting, allowing you to make a significant impact in both elementary and high school environments.
As a provider, you’ll have the flexibility to design your own daily schedule with guidance during the initial part of the assignment. Your primary responsibility will be serving a caseload of approximately 32 direct students, ensuring each receives dedicated services for about 800 minutes each week across several school buildings. This position is expected to start August 25th and run through December 18th, with the potential for extension through the school year ending May 28th for candidates seeking a longer assignment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Missouri COTA licensure required
- Previous COTA experience in school settings is highly desirable
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to adapt schedules effectively across multiple campuses
- Commitment to meeting student needs and documentation requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to assigned students each week
- Maintain thorough documentation of interventions and student progress
- Collaborate with other educational team members and site administrators
- Develop and implement effective therapy activities tailored to individual student goals
- Participate in staff meetings, as required
