Apply NowEmbark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-8 students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This full-time role offers up to 40 hours per week and the chance to make a meaningful impact across several campuses in a dynamic educational environment. As an itinerant professional, you'll provide services across up to five sites, collaborating closely with District Occupational Therapists to deliver interventions and support tailored to student needs.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Proficiency in implementing occupational therapy programs under OT supervision
- Adaptability and strong organizational skills, especially when managing multiple locations
- Ability to communicate professionally with students, staff, and families
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to navigate between sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy sessions to K-8 students in accordance with Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapists for planning, data collection, and documentation
- Assist in adapting materials and environments to promote student independence and participation within school activities
- Document student progress and communicate updates with the interdisciplinary team
- Support school staff with recommendations and classroom strategies for students’ success
- Travel between assigned school sites, maintaining a consistent and organized therapy schedule
