Desired Qualifications:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of New Mexico
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapeutic interventions for school-aged children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, educators, and families
- Demonstrated ability to adapt approaches to meet the unique needs of each student
- Commitment to professional growth and learning in a dynamic educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students per IEP goals district wide
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and student support teams to develop strategies that promote student success
- Document all sessions and progress notes in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Assist with assessments and monitoring of student development under OT supervision
- Provide resources, training, and support for teachers and caregivers to generalize skills beyond the therapy setting
- Contribute to meetings and planning sessions as an active, insightful team member
