Apply NowStep into a pivotal role supporting students’ growth and success as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a vibrant school setting. This full-time contract opportunity spans the entire academic year, offering the chance to make a real difference in the lives of K-8th grade students.
You will work onsite, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to serve a varied caseload of approximately 55 students. Your expertise will directly enhance students’ participation in their school routines, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active COTA certification and California licensure (or eligibility)
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of pediatric occupational therapy best practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to K-8th grade students in accordance with their IEPs
- Implement individualized interventions and adaptive strategies to help students access the curriculum
- Assist the supervising OT in evaluations, progress monitoring, and documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective supports
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress throughout the school year
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights to the team
