Qualifications and Experience:
- Active certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred, but enthusiastic new graduates are also encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with providing individualized and group occupational therapy interventions
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive educational atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OT in accordance with student IEPs
- Assist in screening and evaluating students for therapy needs and maintaining thorough documentation
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to adapt classroom activities and materials
- Guide students in developing fine and gross motor skills, self-care, and adaptive strategies
- Track student progress, contribute to team meetings, and maintain clear, organized records
