Apply NowStep into an impactful role supporting students across a school district as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This contract opportunity begins August 27, 2026, aligning with the start of the academic year and covering approximately 12 weeks for an FMLA leave—with possible extension. You’ll collaborate across campuses, working with students from Pre-K through 12th grade, implementing treatment plans under the guidance of a supervising Occupational Therapist.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current CT DPH COTA licensure and having passed the NBCOT Exam
- Previous school-based experience is highly valued
- Demonstrated experience with diverse student populations and a broad range of disability categories
- Ability to work effectively across multiple school sites
- Dependable transportation for travel within the district
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions to students across the district as outlined in their IEPs and treatment plans
- Collaborate with supervising OT to monitor and support students’ functional, sensory, and academic skills
- Accurately document student progress and report on therapy outcomes
- Work alongside teachers, staff, and families to promote student participation and success in school routines
- Adjust and support interventions according to individual student needs and goals
- Contribute to team meetings and ongoing assessment processes
