School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - New Castle, Delaware

Step into a contract opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school-based setting. This role focuses on collaborating with occupational therapists, educators, and support staff to help students maximize their functional potential and independence in the classroom.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Active COTA license, or ability to obtain licensure in the state prior to start
• Previous experience in a school setting is desirable but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for teamwork with therapists, students, and staff
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills in dynamic educational environments
• Commitment to supporting the developmental and academic needs of a diverse student population

Key responsibilities:

• Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an OT
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to address fine motor, sensory integration, and adaptive skills
• Document student progress and collaborate on adjustments to therapy interventions
• Support generalization of therapeutic strategies across various school contexts
• Participate in team meetings, parent consultations, and student evaluations as needed
