Step into a dynamic school-based environment as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and make a meaningful difference in students’ lives. This contract role is ideal for passionate professionals eager to contribute their skills within a supportive elementary school setting. Work two full days per week (8 hours each day, totaling 16 hours weekly), supporting a diverse group of children from now through June 12th.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active COTA licensure in California
  • Previous experience providing OT services in school settings, preferably at the elementary level
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, therapists, and families
  • Ability to implement treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Understanding of IEPs and school-based documentation procedures
  • Compassion and creativity in facilitating student independence

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and group occupational therapy sessions to elementary-aged students
  • Support the implementation of IEP goals, documenting progress and maintaining detailed records
  • Collaborate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adapt activities and interventions
  • Assist students in developing fine motor skills, sensory regulation, self-care, and classroom participation
  • Consult with teachers and classroom staff to integrate therapy strategies throughout the school day
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute valuable insights on student progress
