An engaging opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide therapeutic support in a dynamic elementary school environment. This full-time, itinerant role serving students from preschool through 8th grade offers a comprehensive 35-hour work week over a full semester. Located in the Norwalk, CT area, this contract position is designed for professionals passionate about enhancing student development and participation in educational activities.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working with a diverse student population from preschool to 8th grade
- Ability to implement individualized therapy plans effectively
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and other professionals
- Flexibility and adaptability to serve multiple school settings as an itinerant therapist
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students according to evaluated needs
- Collaborate with school personnel and families to support student progress and inclusion
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and student outcomes
- Adapt interventions to support academic and functional performance across various environments
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

- Norwalk, CT area, with service coverage that includes Bridgeport and surrounding communities
