COTA in Norwalk, CT

An engaging opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide therapeutic support in a dynamic elementary school environment. This full-time, itinerant role serving students from preschool through 8th grade offers a comprehensive 35-hour work week over a full semester. Located in the Norwalk, CT area, this contract position is designed for professionals passionate about enhancing student development and participation in educational activities.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Experience working with a diverse student population from preschool to 8th grade
• Ability to implement individualized therapy plans effectively
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and other professionals
• Flexibility and adaptability to serve multiple school settings as an itinerant therapist

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students according to evaluated needs
• Collaborate with school personnel and families to support student progress and inclusion
• Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and student outcomes
• Adapt interventions to support academic and functional performance across various environments
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
