Key Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license valid in California
- Recent experience or strong interest in school-based practice
- Ability to work independently, while collaborating closely with supervising OT and educational staff
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Compassionate approach tailored to the needs of diverse student populations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services for students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Implement treatment plans under the guidance and supervision of an occupational therapist
- Document therapy sessions and progress, contributing to evaluations and reports as required
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student participation in school routines and activities
- Assist with therapy-related equipment, accommodations, and classroom modifications to remove barriers to learning
- Maintain professional and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with district policies
