Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification and state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Previous experience providing COTA services in a school or pediatric environment
  • Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related documentation processes
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising Occupational Therapist and educational staff
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Adept at adapting therapy techniques to meet individual student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group occupational therapy interventions for students in accordance with IEP goals and current best practices
  • Support students’ development in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities within the classroom environment
  • Collect data and document student progress, sharing updates with the multidisciplinary team and families as needed
  • Assist with adapting classroom materials and routines to promote student participation and independence
  • Work closely with teachers, staff, and the supervising OT to plan, implement, and monitor therapy interventions
  • Participate in meetings, staff development, and relevant school functions during the assignment
