Make an impact in the educational community as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting students in a vibrant school setting near Orono, ME. This contract opportunity allows you to partner closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and families to help students achieve their fullest potential during the academic year.

As a COTA in this role, you’ll use your expertise to encourage and support students’ progress with therapeutic interventions and adaptive strategies customized to their individual needs. Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Active COTA certification and state licensure (or eligibility)
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to develop rapport with students of diverse backgrounds and needs
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement student-specific OT treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Track and document student progress and assist with data collection for IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Adapt activities and materials to promote participation and independence in the classroom
  • Support sensory, fine motor, and life skills development as needed
