Step into a fulfilling opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) across multiple schools in the Port St. Lucie area. This on-site contract position offers the chance to engage with students from PreK through 12th grade, providing crucial therapy services that help them thrive both academically and socially. As part of a dedicated team, you'll work across 3-5 schools, delivering consistent care throughout the academic year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and active Florida Department of Health Occupational Therapy Assistant license (OTA)
- Experience or enthusiasm for working in school-based or pediatric environments
- Must complete district-required fingerprinting (previous AHCA Clearinghouse prints may fulfill this requirement)
- Strong communication and organization skills, with the ability to travel between campuses
- Passion for working collaboratively within educational settings
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions and support to students as directed by licensed Occupational Therapists
- Implement IEP goals and document student progress according to school district standards
- Participate in team meetings, collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and families
- Adapt intervention strategies to best meet the needs of diverse learners across grade levels
- Manage schedules and caseloads efficiently across multiple campuses
