Step into a dynamic and rewarding contract opportunity working with K-8 students in a supportive school environment as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This full-time position offers up to 40 hours per week and the chance to make a positive difference in the lives of children across multiple sites.

As an itinerant professional, you’ll provide essential occupational therapy services under the guidance and supervision of experienced District Occupational Therapists. Each day brings variety as you travel between up to five K-8 campuses, collaborating with educators, counselors, and special education teams.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential, with all required California licensure and clearances
  • Previous experience in a school setting, particularly with K-8 populations, preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, families, and staff
  • Ability to work independently, manage a flexible schedule, and adjust to different environments
  • Commitment to evidence-based practices and a collaborative, student-centered approach

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain detailed progress records and provide input for ongoing therapy plans and IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with supervising OTs to adapt and implement activities that support students’ educational success
  • Support teachers and school teams in integrating therapeutic strategies into classrooms
  • Travel between assigned sites to ensure consistent and timely service delivery
