In this dynamic role, you’ll be working in vibrant school environments near Peralta, NM, helping diverse learners reach their full potential. The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, to May 28, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule—7:30 am to 4:30 pm, totaling 40 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
- Current COTA certification and licensure (or eligibility) in New Mexico
- Prior experience providing occupational therapy services to school-aged children and adolescents strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and other professionals
- Adaptability to serve students across a range of cognitive, motor, and behavioral abilities
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions according to students’ individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluations, progress monitoring, and treatment planning
- Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate therapeutic strategies throughout the school day
- Support students in building skills for academic participation, self-care, and social interaction
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and student progress
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support holistic student development
