Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification required
- Minimum of one year of recent experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and state-mandated continuing education credits
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of occupational therapy services under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions geared toward educational and developmental goals
- Track student progress, update documentation, and collaborate with the OT to refine treatment approaches
- Work closely with educators, administrators, and families to optimize student learning and well-being
- Ensure record-keeping meets all state and district standards
- Continuously participate in training and professional development opportunities to uphold best practices
