Qualifications:
- Current or eligible Maine COTA licensure
- Associate’s degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to adapt and support students with diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and learning
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing individualized education plan (IEP) goals under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills necessary for school success
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of sessions and student progress
- Facilitate small group or one-on-one activities to enhance participation and independence
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of strategies for student support
