Qualifications:

  • Current or eligible Maine COTA licensure
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Ability to adapt and support students with diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and learning

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing individualized education plan (IEP) goals under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists
  • Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills necessary for school success
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of sessions and student progress
  • Facilitate small group or one-on-one activities to enhance participation and independence
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of strategies for student support
