Qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Active state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • At least one year of recent experience, ideally in a school or pediatric environment
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Willingness to complete continuing education and professional development as required by local regulations

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with licensed Occupational Therapists to deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services
  • Execute therapeutic activities and interventions to foster students’ educational and developmental objectives
  • Track, monitor, and document student progress, collaborating with the OT to adjust plans as needed
  • Work closely with educators, administrators, and families to ensure student needs are met
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district guidelines
  • Take part in ongoing training to remain up to date with best practices in school-based therapy
