Step into a meaningful role supporting students’ growth and independence as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a vibrant Houston-area school setting. This full-time, contract position runs from August 11, 2026, to May 26, 2027, offering the chance to work closely with a dedicated OT and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. You’ll serve a diverse caseload spread across a manageable cluster of 6-7 schools within an assigned geographic zone to streamline your commute.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas COTA license
  • Extensive school-based or pediatric experience (required)
  • Comfort working with children and young adults ages 3–21
  • Familiarity with school documentation systems such as SHARES and Onward
  • Strong organizational abilities for managing documentation and rotating scheduling
  • Flexibility to provide consultative and direct services in accordance with IEPs
  • Able to attend ARDS and contribute meaningfully to student planning
  • Candidates must not be former employees of the district

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide both direct and consultative OT services to a caseload of up to 70 students, with 30–40 receiving direct intervention on a flexible schedule
  • Complete evaluations, assist with creating and updating IEP documentation, and keep accurate excel logs
  • Attend ARD (Admission, Review, Dismissal) meetings and collaborate with educational staff to promote student success
  • Utilize innovative software tools for streamlined documentation
  • Travel between assigned campuses within your designated zone
