This full-time contract position offers up to 40 hours per week and a chance to positively impact students’ lives by supporting their growth and independence. You’ll work across multiple sites (up to five schools) as an itinerant professional, ensuring a dynamic schedule and a variety of experiences. Under the supervision of experienced district Occupational Therapists, you’ll have guidance and support as you provide essential therapy services to children from kindergarten through 8th grade.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Active certification as a COTA
- Experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy services
- Ability to collaborate with OTs, teachers, and other educational professionals
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to travel between multiple school sites
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized OT interventions based on student goals and under the direction of district OTs
- Assist in data collection, progress monitoring, and adaptation of activities for student success
- Support students’ fine motor skills, sensory needs, and participation in classroom routines
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with school and district policies
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development sessions as required
- Communicate regularly with supervising OTs regarding student progress and needs
