Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification
- Minimum one year of recent COTA experience, preferably with pediatrics or in schools
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional development as required by state and district
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of therapy services, following the direction and treatment plans of a supervising Occupational Therapist
- Deliver individual and group interventions to promote students’ participation and skill development in educational activities
- Track and report students’ progress, collaborating closely with the Occupational Therapist to adapt strategies as needed
- Engage with teachers, parents, and administrators to coordinate support for each student
- Ensure documentation and records comply with all state and district requirements
- Participate actively in training and professional growth opportunities
