Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Valid state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification
  • Minimum one year of recent COTA experience, preferably with pediatrics or in schools
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional development as required by state and district

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of therapy services, following the direction and treatment plans of a supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Deliver individual and group interventions to promote students’ participation and skill development in educational activities
  • Track and report students’ progress, collaborating closely with the Occupational Therapist to adapt strategies as needed
  • Engage with teachers, parents, and administrators to coordinate support for each student
  • Ensure documentation and records comply with all state and district requirements
  • Participate actively in training and professional growth opportunities
