Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- NBCOT certification
- Minimum of one year of recent experience, with preference for those who have worked in school or pediatric environments
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and relevant continuing education
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out occupational therapy interventions as prescribed by a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Engage students in therapeutic activities to enhance their participation and success in school
- Monitor, document, and communicate student progress, collaborating regularly with the supervising OT
- Partner with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote student achievement and well-being
- Ensure that all records and documentation meet district and state compliance standards
- Take part in continuous learning opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in your field
