Desired Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Active and current COTA certification and California state licensure (or eligibility)
  • Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or educational setting preferred
  • Effective communication skills for working with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Organizational skills to manage caseload, document services, and maintain compliance
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in therapy approaches

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy activities under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Support students in developing functional, academic, and life skills within the classroom and other school environments
  • Assist with evaluation processes, collect data, and contribute to goal planning for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide hands-on student interventions, modifications, and support based on individualized plans
  • Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to integrate interventions into daily routines
  • Maintain accurate and timely records according to district policies and professional standards
