A short-term position for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is available in San Jose, CA, supporting school-aged children across multiple educational settings. This full-time contract role involves working 7.7 hours daily to cover a 9-week maternity leave assignment starting from late January or early February.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy support to students across four school sites (two primary and two middle schools)
- Manage a caseload of approximately 57 students with diverse therapy needs
- Collaborate with educators and school staff to implement therapy plans
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records according to school guidelines
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current California licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working in school-based occupational therapy settings
- Ability to effectively manage a large caseload and adapt to different age groups
- Strong communication skills to liaise with school personnel and families
