Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current COTA certification and state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience working in school settings is highly valued
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
  • Dedication to student-centered care and evidence-based practices
  • Comfortable working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students’ access to learning by implementing occupational therapy plans under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist
  • Carry out interventions to improve students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and functional performance in educational environments
  • Track student progress, document outcomes, and assist with data collection and reporting
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated support
  • Adapt strategies or equipment to best meet individual student needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
