Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Shawnee, KS

Step into an impactful opportunity supporting student success as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in an engaging school-based contract role. Begin as soon as possible and continue until late May 2027, building meaningful connections with students and collaborating closely with experienced district occupational therapists (OTs).

Your role involves flexibility as you visit 1–3 campuses each week, providing essential support for larger caseloads. With the ability to set your own schedule, you’ll balance autonomy and teamwork as you work hand-in-hand with supervising OTs to help provide students the tools they need for daily living and learning.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
• Experience supporting children or young adults within educational or pediatric settings is preferred
• Excellent communication skills, collaborative mindset, and a positive, student-centered attitude
• Previous experience in a school-based role is valued but not required

Daily Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by OTs to help students achieve academic and functional goals
• Travel between assigned campuses weekly to provide consistent care and support
• Assist with implementing individualized therapy plans and documenting student progress
• Collaborate with educators, therapy staff, and families to foster a supportive environment
• Participate in meetings and contribute insights for student care
