Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Valid COTA certification and eligibility for New York licensure
• Previous school-based or pediatric therapy experience preferred, especially with early intervention populations
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with teachers, assistants, and specialists
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both children and adults effectively
• Flexibility to adapt with evolving caseloads and school program needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services to children in both individual and group settings
• Implement treatment plans designed by occupational therapists, focusing on promoting independence and functional skills
• Collaborate with special education teachers, teacher assistants, and other professionals in a classroom environment where each student receives robust support
• Document therapy activities, student progress, and observations according to school and regulatory standards
• Assist in creating a supportive, engaging, and therapeutic environment for young learners
