A rewarding opportunity awaits for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) seeking a dynamic contract position in a school-based environment near Surprise, AZ. You will play a vital role in supporting students’ growth and success, collaborating closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and parents to provide outstanding care within a welcoming educational community.
This contract begins July 30, 2026, and runs through May 20, 2027, offering consistent hours at 30 per week and the chance to work with a manageable caseload of 35-40 students.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, valid for Arizona
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but enthusiastic new graduates are welcome to apply
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach to working with educators and families
- Ability to adapt intervention techniques to individual student needs across various developmental levels
- Commitment to upholding ethical guidelines and confidentiality with students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Assist with developing and implementing IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and strategies
- Document student progress, prepare clear reports, and contribute to meetings and team consultations
- Help students improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities essential for school success
- Participate in planning sessions and staff development activities
