School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Taylors, South Carolina

Embark on an exciting contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic educational setting for a maternity leave assignment. This full-time role spans multiple elementary schools from mid-February through mid-May 2027, offering meaningful, hands-on experience working alongside a licensed OT to deliver outstanding care.

Key Qualifications:

• Current South Carolina COTA license (required)
• Prior experience in a school setting or working with pediatric populations is highly desirable
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with OTs, staff, and families
• Ability to thrive while working at multiple campus locations with varying needs
• Organizational skills to manage a busy daily schedule and thorough documentation

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide quality therapy services to a dedicated caseload of 9-10 students per day—most sessions are 30 minutes
• Travel to and serve students at several elementary schools throughout the district
• Collaborate closely with a licensed Occupational Therapist to ensure effective treatment plans and implementation
• Conduct regular progress monitoring, maintaining concise and thorough records
• Adapt therapy strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
• Communicate student progress and needs to families, teachers, and school staff
• Maintain compliance with all district, state, and federal regulations
