Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Successful completion of an accredited COTA program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Prior experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy settings preferred
- Ability to develop rapport with elementary-aged students
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and commitment to supporting educational goals
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists
- Supporting the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for assigned students
- Assessing student progress and maintaining accurate documentation
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support students’ access to learning environments
- Assisting in the adaptation of materials and activities to improve student participation and independence
- Engaging with families and staff to ensure continuity of care and support
