Take on a rewarding contract opportunity working with students across the Port St. Lucie area as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This position involves providing essential support to PreK through 12th-grade students across multiple campuses, helping them achieve success in their educational environment. This on-site role allows you to make a meaningful difference while collaborating with other professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services alongside licensed therapists to students from PreK to 12th grade.
  • Travel to and serve 3-5 assigned schools within the district (locations to be determined).
  • Support individualized education plans and monitor student progress.
  • Document student performance and maintain detailed records in compliance with school district requirements.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to collaborative goals for students.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with teachers, administrators, and caregivers.
  • Utilize adaptive tools and therapeutic interventions to promote student independence and participation.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Department of Health OTA license is required.
  • Experience in a school-based setting is highly preferred.
  • Must complete time-sensitive credentialing, including district-required fingerprinting (AHCA Clearinghouse prints accepted if on file).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with PreK-12 populations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to travel between multiple campus locations.

This position offers a consistent 35-hour workweek through the end of the school year, creating ample opportunity to build impactful professional relationships with students and staff alike. This is a contract role, beginning as soon as credentialing is complete and extending through June 1, 2027.
