Essential Qualifications:
- Active certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Previous experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy
- Ability to adapt activities and modify interventions to meet individual student needs
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and parents
- Organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining records and documentation
- Commitment to working with children of varying abilities and backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students under the guidance of a supervising occupational therapist
- Implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals through engaging and effective activities
- Support classroom participation and independence by developing tailored interventions
- Track student progress and provide input for evaluations and IEP meetings
- Collaborate with other school professionals to promote student success in learning and participation
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, and growth-oriented atmosphere for students
