Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) license in the state
- Experience working in a school environment or with pediatric populations preferred
- Understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and their implementation
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and families
- Excellent time management, organizational, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering therapy services to students, following prescribed goals and plans
- Carry out activities that promote students’ functional independence and participation in the classroom
- Document student progress and report observations to the team
- Adapt and modify tasks and environments to support student success
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure coordinated care and support
- Participate in meetings, in-service training, and continuing education as required
