Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Walnut, MS

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) license in the state
• Experience working in a school environment or with pediatric populations preferred
• Understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and their implementation
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and families
• Excellent time management, organizational, and documentation skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering therapy services to students, following prescribed goals and plans
• Carry out activities that promote students’ functional independence and participation in the classroom
• Document student progress and report observations to the team
• Adapt and modify tasks and environments to support student success
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure coordinated care and support
• Participate in meetings, in-service training, and continuing education as required
