A full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is needed for approximately 12 weeks, starting August 27, 2026, to provide coverage during an FMLA leave. This district-wide opportunity allows you to make a positive impact on learners from Pre-K through 12th grade, working under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and collaborating with diverse educational teams.
The role offers a highly engaging day-to-day routine, combining hands-on therapy, creative interventions, and meaningful collaboration with teachers and staff. As a valued team member, you will help implement individualized treatment plans, track student progress, and contribute to an inclusive educational environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active COTA license/certification (CT DPH License required; NBCOT Exam passed)
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Experience working with students across Pre-K–12th grade a plus
- Comfortable supporting varied student needs and disability populations
- Reliable transportation for district-wide assignments
- Professional, flexible, and collaborative approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising OT
- Support development of student skills for classroom participation and daily living
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services and progress
- Engage and communicate with educational staff and families as needed
- Adapt to the needs of multiple campuses throughout the school district
- Participate in team meetings and align with educational and therapy goals
This position features a structured full-time schedule, with approximately 7–7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday (final times to be confirmed by the district). Interviewing will take place virtually for your convenience.
