This contract position begins August 27, 2026, with an initial commitment of approximately 12 weeks to cover an FMLA leave—potentially longer—offering the chance to make a meaningful impact district-wide.
As a COTA, you’ll work with students in grades Pre-K through 12, delivering essential occupational therapy services under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist. Your expertise will help students thrive academically, socially, and physically across a range of settings and developmental needs.
Qualifications:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license (CT Department of Public Health/Passed NBCOT Exam)
- Prior experience in a school-based role preferred
- Reliable transportation is a must, as this position requires travel within the district
- Comfort working with students of varied ages and disabilities
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans and interventions as directed by an Occupational Therapist
- Provide direct therapy to students, adapting strategies according to age and ability
- Accurately document student progress and maintain thorough records
- Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to support student goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights on student needs
- Travel between school sites as needed throughout the district
This contract role offers a full-time schedule of approximately 7–7.5 hours per day (pending district confirmation) and the unique opportunity to support a diverse population of young learners. Virtual interviews are available for your convenience.
