Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Whittier, CA

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with teachers, occupational therapists, and families to help students develop fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and greater independence in daily classroom activities. Qualifications:

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
• Knowledge of school-based therapy documentation and best practices
• Ability to work confidently and compassionately with young children
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions to elementary-aged students according to IEPs
• Conduct group and one-on-one sessions to address student goals
• Collaborate with OTs, teachers, and school staff to support academic and functional skills
• Maintain accurate records and progress notes
• Participate in team meetings and provide input for student growth
• Adapt therapy activities to meet diverse needs within the classroom environment

Schedule Details:

• Part-time, contract position
• 18 hours per week, spread over 3 days (Monday through Friday)
• Start time: 8:30am; End time: 2:30pm
