Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required
  • Current certification as a COTA
  • Active state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a COTA
  • Experience working in school-based settings or with pediatric populations preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs
  • Reliable, organized, and committed to fostering student growth

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist within school settings
  • Assist in evaluating students’ functional abilities and contribute to IEP development
  • Support students with sensory, motor, and adaptive skill development to enhance participation in academic and daily activities
  • Document progress, maintain records, and collaborate with educational staff and families
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and therapy planning sessions as needed
  • Adapt activities and incorporate therapy goals into the classroom environment
  • Provide recommendations and training to educational personnel regarding student needs
